Which is better? Above or under the ground? News is that the Delhi Metro in Gurgaon will be above the Ground. The metro will be under the ground right from Central Secretariat to Saket and after Saket, it will be above the ground coming from Qutub Minar, Andheria Mor, Rajokri, and entering Gurgaon from Sikarnderpur to DT Mall and finally ending at IFFCO Chowk (I donno what are the further plans).  If its above the Ground, then its for sure that the aesthetics and beauty of the Malls on the Mehrauli – Gurgaon road are going to shatter. As Delhi metro is progressing with their speedy work on in Gurgaon. More and more people are criticizing the fact that the Delhi Metro is above the ground. People says that it should be made underground as done in Chandni Chowk, New Delhi Station, Chawri Bazaar line. Well taking about the cost, it is almost double in the underground project but it’s a one time investment. I personally feel that after facing 5 minor earthquakes in Gurgaon the last 7 years. Connaught Place, Old Delhi Railway Stations, New Delhi Railway Station, Chandni Chowk, Shahdra, Pragati Maidan, Dwarka important sectors, Janak Puri, Rajouri Garden, Karol Bagh, Central Secretariat, Tis hazari, Civil Lines, rohini, Kewhav Puram, and lot many important areas of Delhi are covered by Metro. So now the signboards of Delhi metro can be seen on the roads of Gurgaon. With Delhi metro entering Gurgaon, the property prices has now started going up. Commercial Properties by Rs. 100 psf increased with the metro effect.  As soon as reach the Metropolitan Mall on the Gurgaon - Mehrauli road, you see the Metro workers working along with the sides of the mall. So… its time to celebrate.

GDA has approved a metro cess of Rs. 340 per Square meter on all new constructions. This fund will be used for Metro Rail Project development in Ghaziabad. The board has approved the Metro routes from Anand Vihar to Vaishali, Vaishali to Indirapuram and NH-24 to Mehrauli for the integrated and Hi-Tech cities and from Shahdara to the new bus terminal. Same type of Metro Cess is also in proposal for Gurgaon. Lets wait for Metro in complete NCR and see the fun in it then.

Rajiv Gandhi Chowk Flyover is Gurgaon… awesome!!! This flyover was delayed to construct but now one of the best flyovers I like. This flyover took about 2 years to finish and is just adjacent to the Jharsa flyover. The six lane flyover was just finished in June 2006 which was proposed to be competed in December 2005. Whether it was politics, bureaucracy or the prices of the steel to elongate the deadline…. Nobody knows. I have been getting the news that after the Rajiv Chowk flyover is completed, the next flyover that would start will be the Honda Chowk flyover.   I have been visiting IMT Manesar frequently, but the traffic I see over there is getting worst day by day. I have to visit IMT Manesar 7 times a week but there’s no single day when I haven’t struck at the Honda Chowk. How the flyover will be planned god know and the worst part is from where is the NHAI will divert the heavy traffic.

This actually happened today, where we were going to Delhi to meet a client at Delhi brder, the client was wasting for us at Rajokri Flyover. He asked our Netaji about his location…. Client: Netaji where are you? Netaji: Sir, I am at Shankar Chowk.. Client: Netaji, I can understand, you are definitely at Mehrauli Road Netaji: Sir!! Are Gurgaon and Delhi prepared for flood? I was on a Business promotion trip in Delhi. I just had to visit 3 places, Okhla Industrial Area, Kalka Ji and Mahipalpur. Today some political agencies called up the “Delhi Band”, It was actually the full stop in Delhi daily activities. Not only the shops were closed, masses were on road totally blocking the roads, damaging the public property. At Silampur, an area in Delhi, had lathicharge of police, police opened the fire out there. Two get injured too. And wonderful thing is that in an interview one politician on TV was calling this band activity as totally successful.
