Safdarjang Hyundai - Painful Experience

Well, these guys are new in Gurgaon compare to the Orion Hyundai workshop but they have defiantly got a better name Orion. My experience was truly not good with these guys. I don’t know about the service section guys but the insurance claim and the body shop guys are really cunning or maybe inexperienced. Here’s the whole story.

My dad and driver on the way to Mathura had an accident with the tractor trolly and the car (Hyundai accent) was hit on the left side damaging 2 doors, bo-nut and tail light. Thankfully nobody was injured. Just because of a better brand value, we went to Sufdarjung Hyundai workshop in Gurgaon Udyog Vihar for repair and insurance claim of the vehicle. The guys sitting in the body shop inspected that car and said that they would like to REPLACE every damaged part. I insisted on repairing of the parts but they said that the survey is to be done first and then it will be decided that whatever is to be replaced and repaired. I was called again in the evening to meet the surveyor and have a discussion with him on the same issue. It was then decided that all the damaged parts are repairable and does not need to be replaced. Thankfully, I was not carrying the company seal which was needed to fill the insurance claim papers.

The next day when I went to the workshop for the sealing and signing the papers, the workshop guys told me that the doors cannot be repaired and the need to be replaces. When I asked then about the talks with the surveyor I was told that

Who the hell is surveyor to tell us that the part is to be repaired or replaced.

My god!!! This was first time I had ever heard anything like that. I asked the gentleman that when the surveyor has passed the repairing of that parts,,, how can you replace them and who will pay the depreciation for it. He has the same answer that

We Don’t know Who the hell is surveyor to tell us that the part is to be repaired or replaced . If you want the work to start, you will have to get the parts replaced.

Well.. I had no option, but to take my vehicle back from the workshop since these guys think that they are superior than the insurance companies. These guys are more interested in their sale rather than benefiting the customers. At last when I asked this Body Shop guy to give me his visiting card he refused and said there’s no use, I won’t give it coz I know you will make a complaint. Boss, if you know that the customer is gonna make a complaint then you know that you are doing a mistake. And you should also know that there are more than 1000 ways that I can arrange your card.

Now I am getting my car REPAIRED at another authorized workshop of Hyundai without paring a single penny in depreciation. I personally recommend the owners of damaged or accidental cars to be cautious with Safdarjang Hyundai while making the estimates.

    Dude…

U made my article a success… my intention is to get these people on the right track.. who think themselves as a company (Hyundai) rather than just a customer care guy… I want to teach the Safdarjang Hyundai guys the customers are not fools… i will keep on writing about them until and unless Hyundai sees this article….

So.. a humble request to the viewers of this article… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you are looking to get your vehicle services or repaired or planning to file an insurance claim…. AVOID SAFDARJANG HYUNDAI at UDYOG VIHAR GURGAON and do write down your experience with them either good or bad…

Orion Hyundai,Gurgaon , workshop seems no better.I went there for my Santro service and wheel blancing. After service I was confident that wheel balancing now must be right but within 2 days, typrs were totally damaged as balacing was not done right.I have to get new tyre .When i went next time there ,I told them about it .I was shocked to see the response they give.No body was ready to take responsiblity or listen, they just giving me name of each other. There is no mechanism/person who can listen the complain and ensure the accountability.
It seems these work shops people are taking customers granted and try to exploit the fact that there are only limited number of wokshops.

Let me know, have you guys be able to conatact Hyundai people to complain against these workshops which does not care about customers at all.. ?

    Hi,

I also had a pathetic experience With Safdarjang Hundai today (18-09-2008). I spoke to one of the Service Advisor@ the work shop in advance regarding the approximate time & Cost involved for the Second Free Service of my Vehicle. i was given a rosy picture however they are the most unprofessional people in the industry. They kept my vehicle for two days and when i finally reached to the site …i was shocked to see the condition of my car.. it was badly stained and a Bill of Rs/ 2000 was ready for me. i would request you folks to share the contact info with me where i can go ahead and register my feedback… looks like these people do not entertain Insurance claim for any body.. i was also told the same story ….

At Orion Hyundai Gurgaon they are not good at sales too. I walked in their showroom today and waited 15 minutes at reception. The next thing I was told to was wait. I wated again for 15 minutes and then I met a sales guy who was least interested in talking to me. I was wondering if this is how they deal with potential customers what they are going to do if buy a car from them. After reading your post I have decided against buying from both Orion and Safdarjung.

I do not know about this site. But the concept is very good. Atleast from each other’s mistakes we can learn not to repeat the same mistakes by this endeavour. Only problem is that it should be a forum of cousomers only. Company representatives should not be allowed to interfere in the discussions.

I agree with you all that the Hyundai service centres like Orion and Safdarjung are totally unprofessional. I have been servicing my car for the last four years from MGF Hyundai, Delhi. Last time I wanted to try Gurgaon. I went to orion. After servicing, in a few days the car was not running smooth in lower gears. I took it back to them and after checking it he made some resetting with a multimeter like instrument. He couldn’t expalain what the problem was. He didn’t even check drive the car and told me that everything was ok now. But still I had the same problem. Then I took my car to Safdarjung Udyog vihar. First of all there is no place for the cars inside the work shop. The technician told me that the problem was in the sparg plug and told me that he has to change all the spark plugs and lead no. four to the plug. I asked him whether changing only the spark plugs affected by short ciruit will suffice. No explanation. Pay and come and I will do the job. When I went to pay, it took me twenty minutes to just make a job card printed and make the payment. After payment he left me in the lurch and told me you can take the car now. But it is so cramped that I had to wait for another half hour just to take my car out as the way out was blocked by other cars coming in and parked in the way. Any way the problem was solved.

Due to my bad luck, on my way one lorry hit and ran my car in the corner while I was making a right turn. I took the car to delhi for repairs, but they wanted the RC, Licence & Insurance policy in original. The next day I took the car for body shop to safdarjung. The body shop person was polite, but told me that I have to pay the amount and then get it reimbursed from the insurance company as they do not have a tie up with the insurance. But the rates of the items he told me for replacement were very high when compared to the Delhi rates.

Then I took the car to Orion for body shop. The representative disturbed the damaged location while estimating the cost of replacement & repairs, that I was now not able to close the backside door. He coolly told me keep it like that there is no problem. He was not sure when the surveyor will come and was not ready to give me a time frame of return of the repaired car. It was totally an unprofessional service and now I have left it in the delhi service centre. I do not know about superon hyundai in g gurgaon.

I go not understand why Hyundai who is supposed to be very selective of its dealers and service providers is not establishing any good service outlet in gurgaon eventhough the no. of hyundai cars are growing at a very high rate in the north.

Hyundai Accent: Review after 1,00,000 Kms

Hyundai Accent: Review after 1,00,000 Kms I have a Hyundai Accent CRDi, the Diesel variant which I bought about 3 years back from Udaipur, Rajasthan. The car is as good as new (the engine) even after running 1,00,000 kms. One of my very good friends bought the same car at the same time and even with the same color. The only reason we chose this car was because of its powerful CRDi engine 82 Bhp @ 4400 rpm which I think was not available in any other car of the same category. This was a new technology at that time, which

New Hyundai Santro

[caption id="attachment_1243" align="alignright" width="150" caption="New Hyundai Santro"][/caption] The Hyundai Santro's success and the customers demand for small range model has made the company to launch an upgraded model of the old Santro. With Bharat Stage IV norms coming up from April 1, 2010, manufacturers are working hard on their existing cars to bring them up to regulations. One of them is Hyundai who will be launching a facelifted version of the Santro Xing, their popular small car, that will also be compliant with the new emission norms. With the 1086cc, four-potter being made Euro-IV compliant, there are small changes to the

Hyundai making faulty cars

Just got the news that Hyundai has just loss a case against a car owner in Delhi for selling him a faulty Hyundai Accent car. The Courts has ordered the company to replace the faulty car with a new one and give the owner, an additional compensation of Rs. 12,500/-. I can never imagine that the second largest car maker in India can do a shit like that. Well, is it the fault of the Hyundai Car dealer or the company itself? One of my friends had recently visited Hyundai showroom in Gurgaon to buy a Hyundai Accent CRDI just 15

Hyundai Sonata CRDi: Nice Car

Looks like I’m in love with the CRDi Technology. I have been to the Safdarjung Hyundai showroom in Gurgaon to buy a car, not for myself, but for a close relative. I was there for the Verna CRDi, which I don’t find too attractive. I saw the Sonata CRDi and the Tucson. Well, the cars are costly, but real value for money. Tucson is not that comfortable as compared to the Sonata. Both the car are technically sound, and the looks are no doubt the best in their segment. The last factor comes the a Baniya always think is the

Hyundai Accent CRDI : Engine Back Compression

I was experiencing starting problems with my baby (Hyundai Accent CRDI) which is now 3 years or 1,25,000 Km old and still running like a horse in a Polo game. I contacted the Hyundai fellows told me tha the vehicle has a engine back compression problem and got the Piston rings, sleeve, Pistons and almost all the oils (engine, break, gear, steering, coolant) and the filters (diesel, oil and air) needs to be replaced. The overall service took 15 days and 70000/- bucks but now the car is like performing better than the new one. Now I need to add

Ford Fiesta Vs Hyundai Accent

I was not just satisfied after writing my last post about the Ford Fiesta, I want to write more, so a comparison with by Sweety Hyundai Accent is here. Ford Fiesta I agree is a better variant than the Ikon but not better than the Accent CRDI. The Vibration is the Accent CRDi is less than the Fiesta and Driving comfort is too better in the Accent. Both the vehicles has the approximately the same Fuel efficiency but I have heard from friends and relatives that Milage of Ford Fiesta is 18-19 kmpl which I am getting 16-17 Kmpl in the

No good drivers in Gurgaon

I am looking for a drivers for my Tata Safari, Toyota Innova and Hyundai Accent but could not get one in the town. If the driver is experienced…. Then his salary expectations are as high as 10000 bucks a month which includes accommodation and food. And you don’t know when he’ll leave if he finds a better offer. If the driver is inexperienced…. Then you have your car at risk every time, whenever the car is with the driver and you are at home, your heart beat is on a higher side. If you get a driver from Rajasthan…. He has no idea of the ways

Looking for another Office

Now after the New Car, we are looking for a new office space, won’t prefer corporate parks as they don’t suit to the nature of our businesses. Problem is location, for Real Estate, we need a decent location, for IT we need an internet connection and for handicrafts, we need a display space. DLF is no good, coz of electricity problems and the traffic on the MG Road.

Skoda Fabia or CNG?

Well, the time is real bad and it’s gonna be worst if our government will not bring down the fuel prices even of large falls in the Crude oil prices. I read the newspaper today and saw the Skoda India is planning to launch the Fabia into the Indian market, technically – the only variant or my favorite Accent CRDi. I would definitely love to have this car, but the dilemma is, shall I go for a Skoda Fabia or any other CNG vehicle in the same segment. Gurgaon will have CNG stations soon and most of my friends have CNG
