Kanaka was great poet, philosopher, musician and composer from Karnataka. He is known for his Kirtanes and Ugabhoga compositions in the Kannada language for Karnataka Music.Kanaka Dasa was one of the devotees of Krishna and an influential person in the Vaishnava bhakti movement in Karnataka. Purandaradasa and Kanakadasa are the foremost among Haridasas. It is also a memorial to Kanakadasa and eclectic Hindu belief that devotion, poetry and sainthood are above caste and creed and certainty above orthodoxy. Kanaka Dasa 1509–1609 was great poet, philosopher, musician and composer from Karnataka. Besides conveying dvaita tenets, they preached kindness and equanimity in a world full of sorrows.
