The leading components of the print media in Mysore are the Deccan Herald newspaper that started its publication in the year 1948 owing to the efforts of Mr K N Guruswamy. The regular newspaper, Deccan Herald maintains the dynamism coalesced with the tradition in publishing and formatting the news of the world, country and the state in the broadsheets. The newspaper is quick to incorporate the rapid changes in the print media. The ABC certified figures for the first half of 2008 put the daily paid circulation (number of bought copies as opposed to number of copies read) at 214,797 for Karnataka.

The Sunday Herald, Articulation, Economy and Business, Sportscene, Avenues, Metro Life, Science and Technology, Spectrum, Living and the Open Sesame are some of the tabloid supplement of the Deccan Herald.

Jet Airways and Air Sahara is going to increase in fuel surcharge on their tickets. This is the result of rise in recent fuel price hike. Jet Airways and Air Sahara have decided to hike Rs.150 in fuel surcharge. Similiarly SpiceJet too is going to hike price by Rs.150.
