Difficulty in Placement for Indian B Schools

This placement season is going to be tough for top B Schools of India due to recession, restriction by US governments and opposition of US citizens against foreigner’s job.

Senator Chuck Grassley and Bernie Sanders proposed a recommendation according to which the firms which are getting bailout packages from government may face strict action if they hire foreigners under H-1B visa category for highly skilled workers. According to them the money for bail out is from US citizens tax and should not be transferred to the other nationals directly. In US jobs are getting cut and there is no point to give jobs to the foreigners out from the Tax Payers pocket.

This is not good news for Top Indian B Schools. They might face the difficulty in getting their students placed in top companies. Goldman Sachs Group Inc, Merrill Lynch & Co., JPMorgan chase & Co. and Morgan Stanley and some more like these are among the top recruiters from IIMs and they all are on the bailout list. This restriction is definitely going to tough for Indian students. But top B Schools have the trust and confidence that this will not affect the recruitment process very much.

According to B Schools recession is going on, obliviously one can see the effect of this on recruitment. We have built up the reputation on intellectual caliber of their students and we don’t see a huge difference in pattern of recruitment.

So let’s see what would be the pattern for this placement season. How much the B Schools can face the heat of recession and restriction by US government?

Bank of India : No Relationship No Banking

So, here’s the story of me and Bank of India. My father has many bank accounts with “Bank of India” since 1984. He forced me to have my account with them too since we have a good relationship with them and that we the biggest mistake I did.

I opened an account with them for my Handicrafts Export Business. I had a good amount of sale and got payment in US Dollars from my Canadian Buyer. Since the Cheque was from Canada, then Forex Department THOUGHT that the cheque is in Candian Dollars and they remitted the amount in Canadian Dollar, that dispute wasn’t over and a new thing happened, they lost a cheque of mine of a fair good amount from Australia, then found it after 15 days and then it was sent for collection and the third dispute over interests. The story is not over, there are many more things going on still now.

Now I have finally decided to shift to some other bank. Well, I know that for exporters, this is not a good time for Business, but the bank is the one who can be a real culprit and can happen to be a mosquito in the game to suck your blood.

Motorola Gurgaon: No care of Suppliers

Neither we are supplying any parts for their phone nor are we in SCM for them. We supply real estate services to the company. But the management does not care for the agents which supply properties for their employees. The commission is remitted in 2 months, and foremost the concerned lady in the department has 10 forms to fill and then loosing the form 2 times coz se TOO MUCH WORK TO DO!!

Strange, that these multinationals do not know how to manage their time and resources. I hope that Motorola after reading this compliant will hold classes for their employees on Time Management.
