Flood alert in Bhilwara, Rajasthan !!!!

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

How can this be possible? I got a phone call from my uncle yesterday that flood alert has been declared by the local authorities in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. I have spend almost my entire childhood in Bhilwara and never heard of this news before. The Meja Dam is overflowing with 26 feets of water and if it keeps on raining like this, then the dam will have to discharge the water in to the Kothari river which will overflow and there will be a danger of the Old Bhilwara area getting submerged into the water. Strange!!!

This year actually, Rajasthan got good rainfall. When I was on the way to Bhilwara early this month, I saw the green crops by the roadsides which I never saw in my entire time of stay in Bhilwara. If it goes on like this, the state will definitely progress.

Pepsi’s not Poooopseeeee : Boss

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

So, finally Pepsi’s top boss in India virtually admitted that the flagship fizzy cola of his company could be harmful for children, saying Pepsico India will “discourage primary schools” from allowing the drink.

Rajeev Bakshi, chairman of Pepsico India Holdings Private Ltd, said as a company he always wanted Pepsico to keep its “fun drinks” like Pepsi and Miranda away from school children.

“Our advertisement and marketing exercises never target primary school children,” he said.

What does that mean????
That: “kids, please switch to popins and ice creams again since we have been feeding you pesticides and insecticides??? :D

Greater Noida Authority is cash short nowadays

Greater Noida Authority is cash short nowadays….

Its really shocking to hear the news that the Noida Authorities are short of cash nowadays. In a recent incidence, in which the farmers who had to get the compensation from the Noida Authority for the acquisition of their land in the villages Ghori Wachhera, Jaitpur, Vaispur, Kasna, Dhara, Sakipur, etc, the farmers were given cheques for the award of their lands. Even after weeks of depositing the cheques in the banks for weeks, when the farmers didn’t received the compensation for their lands. When asked with the banks, the banks told that the cheques were bounced, and the reason given was that “the needed cash has not been sent by the treasury”. What do you we call that ……

Reliance Infocomm : Please give better handsets

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

I am using Reliance post paid phone from the last 3 year when I started with the LG Moonlight Phone, the best handset I have ever used, use it roughly, throw it, scratch it whatever you do, no problem with the handset.

Then I switched to a higher category :p by changing the handset to LG RD 6130 which I am still using and very happy about it.

But I have always had a problem with Reliance Infocomm that they have never cared to release a phone for the higher end category. You may often see a LG RD 6130 with an auto rikhshaw driver also. It’s really a shameful situation when your employees have a better phone that you (the GSM handsets).

All the phone you see at the Relaince Infocomm site handset section, most of the good or we can say higher end sets are either not available or out of stock whenever you visit the Reliance Webworld. I would love to see the Ambani Brothers also using the same phones that they provide at the WebWorlds.

Reliance headhunting Maruti employees for Retailing Auto Spare Parts

Monday, August 14th, 2006

There’s news that Reliance Retail has already head hunted some employees of Maruti Udyog limited in Gurgaon is really shocking. Reliance Retail, the expected organized retail chain giant is planning to get into the auto spare parts industry, has already employed Arun De who was the Deputy GM at Maruti’s used car business, True Value.

The company (Reliance Retail) may also get into the vehicle sales too. The spares and accessories market in India, worth Rs 7,000 crore, is essentially driven by small roadside stores.

With the proposed retail venture aims to cover 1,500 cities and towns, with 1,500 supermarkets and 1,000 hypermarkets, I personally feel that this is going to make a sharp turn in the accessories market as well and a bad time for the auto part retailers. Well, nothing’s gonna happen to the authorized showrooms. What can be the reliance’s next step in retail??? Would it be selling bricks, cement, steel for construction and selling chaat pakora or ice creams at every corner of the city??? Who knows ??? :p

Google Server Farms in India!!

Google Server Farms in India!!

Now, Google is also eyeing towards the real estate sector in India. I read the news few days back that Google is planning to set up an SEZ (Special Economic Zone) in India. Well, when India is open for all Business big shots like Reliance, Mahindra, DLF for SEZ, then why can’t Google??

Google had already set up a “Server farm” in Taiwan and now India will be the second destination throughout Asia. They’ll have in total 7 Server Farms worldwide if the Indian “farm” is “cultivated”. As far as I have read on the internet, these server farms are data centers that stores email, chat logs, website, web Blogs and much much more.

One thing is for sure, if Google goes with the development of SEZ or (and) Server Farm in India. Then industry giants like Yahoo and Microsoft and others will definitely see India as a preferred destination for expansion of their operations. As India is already a hub for software, BPO’s and IT Enabled Services, I see a great future for the Indian Economy and the Real Estate Sector.

Question : Is Venture Capital loan or Equity??

Saturday, August 12th, 2006

A well known bank has claimed that the venture capital to a company and now they have claimed that the venture capital can be converted into debt.

Also they now claim that VENTURE CAPITAL concept in India is different than the concept of the other countries are using. In India Venture Capital is considered as a loan rather than equity and equity linked instrument.

Also this bank is claiming that they don’t come under the SEBI (Securities and Exchange Boards of India) Guidelines.

Well, I think that these banks need to be taught now that what exactly venture capital is and how it is used.

I need your valuable suggestions, so go let me know at mr1dul(@)yahoo.com (remove ( ) from the email address, it is done to avoid spamming)
