Wet n Wild Resort in Gurgaon

Wet n wild resort is one of the oldest properties in Gurgaon. Me and my family went there for dinner for birthday celebrating birthdays of my mother and wife. The Wet area closes before 8 PM so we could not enjoy that :( . But the restaurant is fine. They have approximately 20 tables for dining and they serve food as well as wines in that. I have stayed in their hotel rooms too on the first floor. The rooms are also nicely designed and the best things to see are the bathrooms. Well designed banquet halls and gardens.

The dinner was good but I didn’t had non vegetarian this time. Sweet corn soup with paneer tikka and obvious dal makhni with the yummmmy missi roti. The food is costly but well prepared, quantities are also so so. Worth a visit.

“Unique Pastry” shop in Patparganj, Delhi

I have been to this shop with my mausiji in Patparganj when she was not in a good health. The shop name is “Unique Pastry”. This place heaven for kids and food lovers like me who love pastries, cookies, cakes, hot dogs, different types of breads, sandwiches, patties, sausages, namkeens, pizzas, biscuits and many more vegetarian and non vegetarian products. This is one of my favorite “snack joint” in delhi.

Whenever I go there, I generally take 5-6 types of pastries, especially chocolate once. Hot dog, patties and Pizzas are my favorite among hot meals. Just have a visit over there…. It’s located very near to the apartments and societies of Patparganj in Delhi and very near to the famous Singla Sweet corner.

Again a fine dining at Madhuban PVR Saket

Friday, August 25th, 2006

This time I was in a birthday party of a very close relative in saket. So there was nothing to think or decide upon as to where to have the dinner party. We went to our old addaa Madhuban Fine Dining at PVR saket. This time we had a better meal and there was nothing we can give a negative review. The bar has a much better ambience than the restaurant but you cannot take you family there. With tables, beer bar so seating for different people, they have given different choices. One again a nice meal. My genuine advice for mithai lover is to order a plate of GulabJamun after your meal…. Its yummmmy.

Coco Palm South Indian restaurant at DT City Centre Gurgaon

Coco Palm South Indian restaurant at DT City Centre Gurgaon

After a comprehensive study on modular kitchen for my home in Delhi, me and my family had plan to have lunch at Madhuban at PVR. But our Jijaji was so kind that he arranged the samosas, paneer pakora, namkeens, rasgullas, and other mithaais at his office itself near Saket in Delhi. After having those snacks we had been to some more kitchen appliance manufacturers and after reaching a conclusion that we’ll have to get the kitchen from Gurgaon itself, we planned to have some snacks at the COCO PALM south india restaurant in the DT City Centre mall on MG road.

No doubt the restaurant is cool, with nice ambience and good seating space. The restaurant is in L shape with very nice handicrafts hanging on the walls and the spaces fully utilized. My personal recommendation is that whenever you are here; do order “Butter milk” before ordering any meal. It’s so refreshing and tasty.

We ordered a Mysore Masala Dosa, a Paneer Rava Butter Masala Dosa, a mini south Indian tiffin thaali and Curd Rice. The taste was purely south Indian, since the dished are made by actual south Indian chefs and even served by the south Indians. No doubt, the meal was delicious with the Curd rice at the first place and mysore masala dosa at second coz its my favorite.

Mr Kapil Dev: Please serve better soups in you restaurant “Kap-tain’s Retreat”

Wednesday, August 23rd, 2006

I heard a news today that while having a food quality check at his restaurant, six women fell seriously ill after consuming soup during a kitty party. All woman were from upper class families and they got affected immediately after consuming the soup and the restaurant staff, instead of helping them were found laughing on the affected. Fortunately, it was after four other women in the group, who had not taken the soup, called up the police that they were rushed to the nearby government hospital.

Well, the irony lies in the fact that there were already people in the restaurant for checking the food quality and they the ladies falling on the floor after having the soup. Kapil Paaji, we, the panga gang seriously recommend you the fire your existing chef at least

RAJ Restaurant in Sector 15, Gurgaon

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

Just near to my residence, we have this restaurant and the bad thing is that I had never tried the food of this particular restaurant. Yesterday, my wife, mom and sis called me up and that the renovation work is going on in the kitchen, so we need the get the food from outside. I don’t like outside food that much but…..

So the food came from this particular restaurant and after taking the first bite of that softy and tasty stuffed Nan with the delicious Dal Makhni… aahhhh, it was so good that I had 2 Nan and 3 missi roti with that. The taste was more or less same that I had in Madhuban Restaurant at PVR Saket. Malai kofta and Chilli paneer was also good.

Do try a meal over there and it’s worth it. If you are a family then avoid going there in late night hours, better you get the food packed over there and have it somewhere else.

Sohna Complex …. You need to improve a lot baby

Sohna Complex …. You need to improve a lot baby….

This was the first time when I visited a motel in Haryana and specially a property developed by Haryana Tourism.

Gurgaon is called the city of Guru Dronacharya (of Mahabharata) and I often hear that Gurgaon was known as “Guru Gram” in past days. Being such a great corporate city and shopping destination, Gurgaon lag behind is tourism, and not only Gurgaon, the whole of Haryana I would say. I visited the Sohna Complex for the first time since my colleagues said that the property has been developed at the time of Tau Devi Lal and the place is nice and calming. Sohna complex is situated on the Sohna Tauru road on the best location one can imagine, its on the hillside from you can actually see the Gurgaon city. It was made at a time when Sohna was possibly a very small village. Now when you visit there, the gardens are not maintained from the last one year. The building has not been painted since long, Sohna, which happened to be a small village has now reached the boundaries of this motel, food quality is bad and best of all, there are bout 20 – 25 Lizards in the Dining Area…. Yukkkk.

Looking for a reliable modular kitchen manufacturer in Gurgaon

Saturday, August 19th, 2006

My house is undergoing renovation and I am desperately looking for a modular kitchen in provider in Gurgaon. I though of visiting Sapna interiors near sector 14 but the shop seem to be shifted somewhere else ….. :( (at least they should have left a board for their previous customer). Then I tried the DLF Galleria market in DLF Qutub Enclave Phase 4 and found a shop called “Royal Kitchen” just in front of the DLF City Club. The guy has a small showroom but good material kept over there. But as an India and especially a Baniya, I would really prefer to see some more variety of it; after all if I am spending a lakh of rupees on the kitchen, then I would take the stuff “thok baja ke”. Is there anybody who can tell me a good vendor of modular kitchen in or near Gurgaon and Delhi ???

Madhuban Restaurant near PVR Saket New Delhi

Madhuban Restaurant near PVR Saket New Delhi

Had dinner with friends at this restaurant yesterday. The entrance is a tunnel like structure with orange color as if you are entering a castle, ambience is like the normal restaurants as we had is Plaza Solitaire Gurgaon. The food we had there was Dal Makhani (which is the obvious order), Shahi paneer and Missi Roti along with vegetable Raita. Dal makhni was exactly the taste I always relish. Missi Roti was undoubtedly the best I have ever had in Delhi (soft and tasty), not better than the Rajasthani Missi Roti. Shahi paneer was not that good.

The restaurant is costlier than the others but its worth a visit.

Dinner at Plaza Solitaire Gurgaon

Sunday, August 13th, 2006

Had dinner with friends with wives at the Plaza Solitaire at Sector 14 Gurgaon. I just had a sweet corn soup and others had Dal Makhani, Vegetable pulao, Shahi Paneer, Missi roti and vegetable raita. Food is so so, ambience is good but prices are higher compared to others. We actually planned for Dana Choga, just in the front of Plaza Solitaire but to our disappointment, all the tables were engaged. Nice dinner though… we missed you ankur :D
