MTNL Landline and Dolphin Customer Care

4:57 P.M. 20 September 2008

I just tried the CUSTOMER SERVICE number of MTNL. 9868112345. Call landed up at Deepak Seat no. 68

Unfortunately this number is for customer care of dolphin not for landline of MTNL. I asked him to give me some number for MTNL Landline. For about 15 minutes he keeps on saying that there is no number for MTNL guys other then 1500.
According to him this is the only number if somebody want to talk to MTNL regarding landlines. I asked him what about the person whose landline is dead and dont have any other landline in his home. What a wonderful answer i got ” go to your neighbor or market and make the complaint. There is no harm in taking the favor from neighbors”. He said you are only person who is asking for customer care number other then 1500 in his job tenure of 1 year in MTNL.

I think everybody in Delhi is taking the favor from neighbors or shops to do complaint.

After literally shouting on him, asked him to go to his senior to get some other 8 digit landline for complaint. He gave me 22221500.

What a wonderful customer care of MTNL is. This is the knowledge of MTNL customer care guys have about their product.

New fleet of DTC : Low Floor Buses : Gift for Delhi

New green color low floor buses of DTC are new attraction for Delhi commuters. DTC has added 45 low floor buses in its fleet. And these buses are running with full capacity. 12 buses are running on Route no. 479, 8 on Route no. 500, 10 on Route no. 442 and 5 buses on Route no. 729.

These buses are getting popular for daily travelers. People are preferring these busses in comparison to blue line(popular as death lines now) or old DTC buses. These buses have tubeless tyres to ensure no flat tyre problems. New buses have pneumatic doors. People are not very use to of it but they will be very soon.

With these new buses earning per kilometer has touched Rs. 20 while for old buses it is about Rs. 12 per kilometer. The operating loss on new buses is about Rs. 6 per kilometer, which is very less as compared to Rs. 30 per km in old DTC buses.

I must say that Delhi Govt. must increase the no. of these buses in roads of Delhi. It will not only make DTC less loss making but also will improve the condition of public transport in Delhi especially the public Bus travel.

Should Delhi Metro be above, under or on the Ground?

As Delhi metro is progressing with their speedy work on in Gurgaon. More and more people are criticizing the fact that the Delhi Metro is above the ground. People says that it should be made underground as done in Chandni Chowk, New Delhi Station, Chawri Bazaar line. Well taking about the cost, it is almost double in the underground project but it’s a one time investment.

I personally feel that after facing 5 minor earthquakes in Gurgaon the last 7 years. We don’t know when we may face it again and the probability of surviving in an object which is 80 feets under the ground is almost 0 (zero) in that case. Not only the passengers who will be traveling, but also those who will be present in the underground station will not survive in that case. If you are above the ground you have some option to survive at least.

Delhi Metro : Changing the mode of transportation

Delhi Metro is my first choice if I have to go to the routes of Metro. Delhi Metro is ultimate example of best management with wonderful implementation of policies.

Connaught Place, Old Delhi Railway Stations, New Delhi Railway Station, Chandni Chowk, Shahdra, Pragati Maidan, Dwarka important sectors, Janak Puri, Rajouri Garden, Karol Bagh, Central Secretariat, Tis hazari, Civil Lines, rohini, Kewhav Puram, and lot many important areas of Delhi are covered by Metro. These are the places which Delhites needs to go frequently. Metro is expanding Very fast. Its going to cover more area of Delhi, not only Delhi but also construction work of Metro in Gurgaon and Noida is going on in full swing.

Metro is planning to cover Yamuna Bank, Laxmi Nagar, Games Village, Mayur Vihar, Noida, Golf Course Noida, Preet Vihar, Karkarduma, Anand Vihar ISBT, Vaishali, Kaushambi, Dilshad Garden, (Guru Teg Bahadur) GTB Hospital, Model Town, Azad Pur, Adarsh Nagar, Jahangirpuri, Udyog Bhavan, Race Course, Jor Bagh, INA, AIIMS, Green Park, Hauz Khas, Malviya Nagar, Saket, Qutab Minar, Ghitorni, in Gurgaon Garden Estate, DT City Centre, IFFCO Chowek, Sushant Lok and many more areas of Delhi and NCR.

Fares are moderate, no tension of traffic, air conditioned traveling most secure mode of transport in and around Delhi, very good parking system, smart ticketing process, smart cards, comfortable Feeder buses, most important timings of operation of Metro.

I love Metro Traveling. Save Time, Money, and avoid exertion and tension.

Thanks Mr. E. Sreedharan, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. DMRC

Subhiksha stores in Gurgaon and Delhi

Now Subhiksha Stores are there in Market. After Vishal, Big Bazaar, Mega Mart etc. and now Subhikhsa is in Market. Retail giants are coming in Market and ultimately end users are getting the profit

Prices of vegetables at Subhiksha are low then other vegetable shops are good localities, Groceries have big discounts, and Mobile Market at Subhiksha is wonderful. You can find the mobile worth Rs. 1200 to N-Series of Nokia that’s too either at good discount or great EMI schemes.

Subhiksha Stores are performing well till now, lets see how its going to work for long term.

Update on Subhiksha :

Now the bad thing about Subhiksha is their staff. They are not well trained, dont have good communication skills. They dont have the updated knowledge about the product they are selling. They does not seems like even a salesperson. The common shopkeepers are much better then them. This is the third Subhiksha Store I visited. The condition is same everywhere. If Subhikhsa want to survive in market, I suggest them not to try cost cutting on side of salespersons. The quality of sale team should be very good.

Delhi Metro @ Gurgaon : Underground or above

Which is better? Above or under the ground? News is that the Delhi Metro in Gurgaon will be above the Ground. The metro will be under the ground right from Central Secretariat to Saket and after Saket, it will be above the ground coming from Qutub Minar, Andheria Mor, Rajokri, and entering Gurgaon from Sikarnderpur to DT Mall and finally ending at IFFCO Chowk (I donno what are the further plans).

If its above the Ground, then its for sure that the aesthetics and beauty of the Malls on the Mehrauli – Gurgaon road are going to shatter. No doubt that it will improve the local transport facilities, but when I see the Radisson Hotel, Delhi on the National Highway just behind the flyover at the Mahipalpur Chowk, I feel pity from the bottom of my heart that such a beautiful structure is now hidden behind the heavy columns of the Highway.

Sikanderpur Chowk Gurgaon to be closed for Delhi Metro

So, the news is that Sikanderpur Chowk will be closed for the Delhi Metro work in Gurgaon. The metro station will be located just after the Sikanderpur mor. And what about the traffic. HT Gurgaon says that HUDA is planning to divert the traffic through Garden Estate, which I personally feel is impossible. The Faridabad – Sector 42 road is open now and the best thing that can be done is that the road from Mehrauli Road which will connect to the Faridabad road should be constructed and the traffic should be diverted towards Sector 42 and Golf Course. If the traffic will go from Garden Estate, the traffic will choak badly and it will take hours to control the traffic.

Parking and Parikrama Service at AIIMS

I went to All Institute of Medical Science AIIMS after a long time. I went there to see somebody in my relation who got operated out there. There used to be one parking lot in the premises just near to main entry gate of AIIMS. Which used to create lot of chaos due to full parking or bad parkers. Even some times you could see almost jam like condition in the main gate of AIIMS.

Now they have done one great thing. Just enter into AIIMS main gate, take left and go about one and half kilometer and you will find one big ground having parking capacity of approx 1000 of cars. Great… From there you can get one parikrama service i.e. free drive by battery operated vehicle having capacity of about 10 people all around the campus of AIIMS. The frequency of this service is about 15 minutes. It has not only reduces the problem due to parking bus also has solved the problem of commuting between one department to other inside the campus. Otherwise it was very difficult for patients, olds, woman or even attendants to go to different section of hospitals to get reports, medicines, foods etc. reason being the campus of AIIMS is actually huge. One thing more they require is to increase the frequency of these vehicles and everything will go smooth.

Its good to see that things are actually going in positive direction.

Delhi Metro in Gurgaon

So now the signboards of Delhi metro can be seen on the roads of Gurgaon. With Delhi metro entering Gurgaon, the property prices has now started going up. Commercial Properties by Rs. 100 psf increased with the metro effect.  As soon as reach the Metropolitan Mall on the Gurgaon – Mehrauli road, you see the Metro workers working along with the sides of the mall. So… its time to celebrate.
