Suresh Kumar Raina was born on 27 November 1986 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Suresh Raina is an Indian cricketer from the state of Uttar Pradesh. Raina has been a member of the Indian cricket team for ODIs since July 2005, and was included in the Test squad in early 2006, but has yet to make his Test debut. Raina had a difficult start to his international career, being dismissed for a golden duck by a doosra from spinner Muttiah Muralitharan. With Ganguly being sacked after a row with Indian coach Greg Chappell and Mohammed Kaif injured, Raina played in five of the matches against Sri Lanka in India, mostly as a supersub, and made a cameo 39 not out to guide the team to victory in the fourth ODI.
Raina wasn’t part of the victorious World Twenty20 squad. Twenty months later he is very much in the scheme of things. “This is a very important tournament for me. I didn’t play when we won the title last time. This is a great time to be part of the Indian squad. Everyone is doing well and we are a close knit unit. We know how to handle pressure and neither do we get complacent. Raina believes that he continues his good form it won’t be long before breaks into the Test team. “It’s difficult to get a spot in the Test line-up with so many great players around, but whenever I get a chance I want to do well.

Goddess Saraswati is universally recognized in Hinduism as the Goddess of learning and knowledge. Students in any and all fields of learning pray to Saraswati for sucess in completion of their studies. The Goddess Gayatri is synonymous with Goddess Saraswati in the sense that Gayatri is another form of Saraswati. Hence, the Gayatri Mantra is indeed the best invocation for Goddess Saraswati. Legend has it that Saraswati appeared as Gayatri in order to assist Brahma in the completion of an important yagna being conducted in homage to the Sun God (Surya Devataa).
The Saraswati Vandana Mantra is recited by her devotees every morning for good luck.
Yaa Kundendu tushaara haara-dhavalaa,
Yaa shwetha padma’asana
Yaa brahma’achyutha shankara prabhritibhir Devai-sadaa Vanditha
Saa Maam Paatu Saraswati Bhagavatee Nihshesha jaadyaa-pahaa.
Lata Mangeshkar was born on September 28, 1929. Lata Mangeshkar is a singer from India. She is one of the best-known playback singers in the Hindi film industry. Mangeshkar’s career started in 1942 and has spanned over six and a half decades. She sang in over a thousand Bollywood movies and has sung songs in over twenty regional Indian languages, but primarily in Hindi. She is one of the only two singers (and the only playback singer) to have been awarded the Bharat Ratna, the nation’s highest civilian honour (the other being legendary classical vocalist M.S. Subbulakshmi). Although she mainly sings for Hindi films, Lata Mangeshkar popularity and influence transcends all barriers of region and language.
Lata imitated Noor Jehan, who was then the most popular singer, but later she developed her own style of singing. Lyrics of songs in Hindi movies are primarily composed by Urdu poets and contain a higher proportion of Urdu words, including the dialogue. Actor Dilip Kumar once made a mildly disapproving remark about Lata’s Maharashtrian accent while singing Hindi/Urdu songs; so for a period of time, Lata took lessons in Urdu from an Urdu teacher named Shafi. Lata Mangeshkar is that rare artist who has realized her search for excellence. As Amitabh Bachchan once said, she is the only artist in the history of Indian cinema who did not see a downslide once at the top.
Lakshmi Menon was born on November 4, 1982 in Bangalore, India. Lakshmi Menon is an Indian fashion model. Best known for her work with Givenchy, she’s not the traditional Bollywood beauty. This university educated model is the kind of woman who would impress your parents at dinner with the intention of getting you into trouble later on. She’s the master of staring contests, and she looks great in a bikini. She took up modelling to earn money while studying for a degree in sociology at the Bangalore University. After modelling in India for several years, she began her international career in 2006.
Menon’s own big break came when Jean Paul Gaultier cast her for a show for his own label, which led to a job on the Hermès catwalk (also designed by Gaultier) and finally the Hermès advertising campaign. A show for Jean Paul Gaultier was followed by work on the Hermès catwalk, the Hermès advertising campaign, and campaigns for Max Mara and for Givenchy.
Wigan Athletic will face Chelsea at DW Stadium this afternoon as they try to edge away from the Premier League relegation zone. Carlo Ancelotti’s side will also be boosted by the return of midfielders Yuri Zhirkov and Joe Cole. Both successfully overcame long-term knee injuries to make their comebacks in the midweek Carling Cup victory over the Rangers. When Frank Lampard’s cross is half-cleared to John Terry, he scored with a spectacular mid-air volley which put the Londoners ahead despite Wigan dominating the early exchanges.
The midweek fun and games of the Carling Cup presented most Premier League clubs with the chance to give their youngsters a run out, but the big names will be back this weekend as the serious business of the Premier League continues. Pace-setters Chelsea head to Wigan looking for a remarkable 12th successive league win and a 10th straight victory this season. Second placed Manchester United will have a spring in their step after last week’s spectacular derby win over rivals City, but they face a stern test when they travel to Stoke. Chelsea were reduced to nine men at the end when Ashley Cole was injured and all the Blues substitution had been made, and the Latics took full advantage, Paul Scharner netting the third as Wigan completed the historical win.
UFBU Meeting With IBA
The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), an employees’ association of 19 nationalised commercial banks in the country, will continue its agitation if talks with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) fail again. A crucial meeting between the representatives of the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) and the Indian Banks Association (IBA), slated for tomorrow, is likely to discuss wage revision and other demands of about 10.5 lakh bank employees and officers in the country.
The UFBU, at a meeting on September, discussed the IBA package and decided to pursue it with the association in tomorrow’s meeting in Mumbai, he added. According to Patnaik, who is also the general secretary of NCBE, the UFBU had recently withdrawn its country-wide strike call for September 12 when the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) had at a conciliation meeting in New Delhi agreed to discuss the UFBU’s demands within a fortnight’s time. On the demand of UFBU that proper recruitments are not taking place in banks resulting in increased workload for the employees and officers, the representatives of IBA maintained that recruitment is a bank specific function.
