Well this is my latest experience with the Sony authorized service centre in Gurgaon.
I had given my Sony Hi Fi music system to Advance Electronics Gurgaon (the only authorized Sony workshop in Gurgaon) for repair. The problem in my Hi Fi set was that it was hanging just after it was plugged in. 6 hours after I gave the system for repair, I received a call from them that power supply is Ok and there is some defect in an IC and it would be repaired and it would cost around Rs. 2000/-. I told them to repair it. Next day I received another call that another part is damaged and now the estimate would be around 4000/-. Still I told them to repair it. A day after I got another call that I cannot be repaired as the part supply has been ended. I scolded them hard and I told them that I would pick up the set as soon as I get time. I took the set back after 5 days as soon as I come back to Gurgaon from Mumbai.
I picked up the set from Advance Electronics Gurgaon and gave it to another authorized service center in Dwarka, Delhi. To my utter surprise, I was told that the power supply board of the system is completely damaged and there are many other parts missing from the system. I contacted sony india from their web site and they are even worst. They have no time to reply to the customer complaints even after 3 repeated mails. Now I think, the best way to deal with these guys is Consumer Forum.
I am not able to understand how an authorized workshop can cheat like this to customers. I was about to buy a Sony Playstation 3 and now I have completely dropped the idea. So from me…. SAY NO TO SONY.
